I would like to advise you that following many months of hard work we have been able to finalise the opportunity to deliver both a men only and a women only lifeguard course within Luton in early 2018.

Thanks to the support of a number of partners we are able to offer up to 12 places on each course with funding and bursaries available (subject to eligibility criteria being achieved) and this will be discussed with anyone interested in attending the courses during the briefing / information sessions.

The programme has been put together to maximise the opportunity for the training to take place in bite size sessions over a 3 month period with the final assessment being scheduled for the end of March 2018.

There will be weekly sessions and additional half day / full day workshops to ensure that all candidates can meet the minimum training hours required to be presented for assessment.

All candidates who receive funding or a bursary will be signed up to a training agreement to volunteer to work for Active Luton or a partner organisation (to be agreed ) for a minimum of 20 hours and certification will be withheld until these hours are completed and signed off.

Who is eligible?

  • The course is open to anyone over the age of 16 years at the date of assessment.
