Pathway Coach Development Programme

Lesley has completed her first year as Beds ASA County Head Coach. She has planned and delivered 4 workshops for the County’s top 11 year olds and along with the County Development Team, attended the National forum in Nottingham to see where the County Programme is going next year. She hopes to continue the role in 2018.

Lesley was also selected as a Skills Coach on the East Region Talent Camps and the Swim England National Phase one Camps for the East this year. This was completed last weekend, delivering a total of six training sessions for the Regions best swimmers since September.

Lesley has now also just been selected as 1 of only 20 Coaches from across England for Swim England Pathway Coach Development Programme 2018-2019. This is Swim England’s National flagship Pathway Coach Programme.

This exciting and innovative coach learning initiative will comprise five workshops at Loughborough; world class starts turns and underwaters and world class planning principals for long term gain, peer learning sessions, and performance programme observation visits over 14 months – beginning January 2018

The Programme is a unique development learning programme aimed at those coaching ‘age group’ athletes (10 – 14 years) in the Swim England Pathway.

I am extremely excited about this selection and feel very privileged to have been selected as part of a strong and very focused group of Coaches. The next 14 months will be hard, but the content of the programme is excellent and I am looking forward to learning and passing on what I learn to all our other Coaches and in turn, our swimmers at PSC”.
