Volunteers Wanted

Dear Parents,

Have you ever sat at training or at a gala and thought ‘I wonder how I can get involved’?

Our aim is to train your child to achieve whatever they wish to achieve, be it a PB, county or regional time and to help them be who they want to be. There is no better feeling than a swimmer coming up to you post-race with a big smile on their face; “I got a PB!!!”, or your child winning a medal.

Putteridge Swimming club could not continue to operate and achieve this aim without the support of our volunteers.

There are many volunteering roles at Putteridge swimming club and volunteering opportunities are open to anyone over the age of 16.

  • Teaching and Coaching
  • Team Manager
  • Time Keeping and Officiating
  • Poolside Helper
  • Supporting Home Galas

‘I don’t have a lot of time, what is the commitment’?

You can be involved as much or as little as you like and we would always ask you first for your evolvement at open meets.

‘I have never done anything like this, will I get trained’?

Training will be arrange, and if you would like to be involved as an Official, Time Keeper or Team Manager there are ASA courses available. We will also ensure that you are DBS checked by the Criminal Records Bureau and provided you with safeguarding training.

‘Ok I’m interested, how do I get involved?

Come and have a chat with our volunteers, coaches and committee members or Emma and James who will always be found poolside ready to get you involved. We welcome anyone who is keen. In Lesley’s words; “The more the merrier!”

Volunteering opportunities are open to anyone over the age of 16.
