PSC Masters Compete at European Championships

Putteridge masters swimmers went international for the first time and they certainly rose to the occasion. A season which has been hampered by shoulder injury didn’t deter Paul Brignell. In his first race, the 50 breast, swum a pb by half a second and set a new county record in the process. He followed this up with a superb swim in the 50 free, dipping under 33. Great swims Paul. Carrie swum in both the 50 and 200 back. Although she didn’t swim personal bests, she placed 51st in the 50 back and 25th in the 200 back. Well done Carrie.

This was only Patricia’s second masters competition ever, after she thoroughly enjoyed success at the masters nationals a month prior. Not only did she set 2 new personal bests in both the 50 and 100 breast, but 2 new county records. She’s definitely hooked on competing now ! Well done Patricia.Emma had a busy schedule but this did not affect her. Just off her personal best in the 400, but a huge personal best in the 100 free (by 3 seconds) and nearly 2 second personal best in her 50 free ! Well done Emma !

When he’s not climbing the worlds tallest mountains, Chris likes to have a quick splash in the pool. It certainly was quick. A personal best by over a second, in his first masters race in almost a year. Well done Chris ! Andy was just off his personal best on his 100 free, but then swum very well to swim a personal best in the 50 free. Well done Andy !And last but not least : Tracy ! Just the 50 free, but swum a great personal best and won her heat !

Well done to all of you. You have made all of Putteridge Swimming Club proud.
